Research
I’m broadly interested in the relationship between technology and urban space. My current project looks at the disappearance of rail transit in Los Angeles (the Pacific Electric “red cars”) throughout the 20th century through a combination of network and archival methods. My past projects have included using computational text analysis methods to study online discourse around AI futurity, utilizing crowdsourced genealogical data to examine migration and mortality and studying possibilities around the use of administrative data in the 2030 Census.
