Katherine Smock
Biography
I am a doctoral candidate in the Sociology department at the University of California, Los Angeles. My work is situated in urban sociology and organizational sociology. My research interests include housing and real estate development, organizations and the nonprofit sector, and local governance. My dissertation looks at organizational differences among affordable housing developers in the Los Angeles area, how those differences shape the process of building affordable housing, and the effects those differences have on the housing they build.
