Biography

I am primarily interested in the ways that historical and institutional factors affect the internal structures and efficacy of urban social movements. By examining the differences in housing movements in the Global North and the Global South, I hope to apply a global sociological framework to explore the following questions: Why are some movements more successful than others? How does the historical context of past movements in a given society characterize present ones? Why do we see varying levels of inclusivity in movements? How can we effectively recharacterize existing conceptualizations of movements by including a greater diversity of international case studies?
