Oct. 3, 2011: Annenberg Research Seminar – Gabriel Rossman, UCLA

Please join students and faculty for a presentation by Gabriel Rossman, assistant professor of sociology at the University of California, Los Angeles. This research seminar is also sponsored by USC Annenberg’s Media, Economics & Entrepreneurship M{2e} initiative. His topic: “Genre Distinctions and Diffusion in the Radio Industry.”

From Dr. Rossman: “Genre Distinctions and Diffusion in the Radio Industry will examine how the segmentation of the radio industry by genre structures the ways in which songs spread among radio stations. This research will discuss both crossover patterns and treat the rise of Reggaeton as a case study in how radio incorporates new genres.”
