Social Stratification, Inequality, and Mobility Working Group (SIMWG)

Welcome to the Stratification, Inequality, and Mobility Working Group (SIMWG)! The core objectives of the Stratification, Inequality, and Mobility Working Group (SIMWG) are centered around fostering a deep understanding and active engagement in the fields of social stratification, inequality, and mobility. Here are the key elements:

  1. Fostering Academic Dialogue: We aim to invite leading scholars in the fields of stratification, inequality, and mobility to present their ongoing research, focusing on those who employ innovative methodologies, make significant theoretical contributions, and uncover crucial empirical findings.

  2. Promoting Student Development: By enabling students to present their ongoing work, we offer a platform for feedback and guidance, supporting the academic growth and career progression of our community members.

  3. Enhancing Collaboration: Our goal is to build rapport and collaborate with students and faculty across working groups interested in social stratification research, thereby enriching and expanding our scholarly community.
